Paying for Investment Advice
There are basically two types of investors: The first are those who want to design their own portfolios by some process of investment selection that they have either read about, attended seminars on, or designed themselves. Then there are those investors who are going to hire someone to implement an investment process for them. These next few paragraphs are for those who would prefer to hire someone to help them.
….Here’s something to consider; buying investments can be somewhat like buying a car. If you have $10,000 to buy a car, then your choices are going to be limited to cars priced at or below $10,000. If you have $100,000 to buy a car with, then you have a lot more choices. The investment world can be very similar. Those who have more money, generally have more investment options available to them. Regardless of where you are today, you need to know what your options are. Don’t be afraid to ask your advisor exactly how they get paid. After all, your patients ask you don’t they?
