The success that Thomas and Maggie are experiencing is not just because of my great planning. (Though I’d like to believe my encouragement and direction has helped them to make smart financial decisions along the way.) The major reason they are doing so well is due to the fact that they started early and they implemented their financial plan early on. My point in stressing the word implemented is this. Having a written financial plan and not actually implementing it, is kind of like exercise; thinking about starting an exercise program, and even having an exercise program designed by a fitness trainer is worthless if you don’t actually exercise! The same goes for your financial plan. Spending the time and money to have a financial plan designed especially for you to help you achieve what is most important to you in life is meaningless if you don’t actually follow-through and implement your plan.
